If you have used Microsoft Edge, you probably know that it has a lot of ads. On top of that, it is a pain to uninstall, and when you do, it can break certain features, like search.

I recently uninstalled Edge, and when I tried to search using the search bar on the taskbar, Once I uninstalled Edge, searching from the bottom taskbar started showing an error: it couldn’t find 'microsoft-edge'.

I wrote a python script that handles redirection and strips advertising data

After I built that into an .exe file, I moved it into C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application and named it msedge.exe(to avoid registry edits)
